Stampin' Up! News & Class Info

Firstly just a reminder that Stampin' Up Sunday is back next week 23rd August from 9:30am to 3:30pm and whilst the samples are yet to be completed I have attached pictures below of some of the lovely items we will be using to create our layout and off the page project.  I should have the samples finished next week for viewing but don't wait just dive in a come to class - I am sure you won't be disappointed.

So for our cards I am thinking "All that Glitters" sounds interesting and I hope they come out just like I have planned in my head, the layout we will be using the lovely English Garden papers below which have quite a soft subtle colouring but I will be pairing these with some deep royal blue background cardstock.  For our off-the-page item this month think McDonald's fries without the fat!!!! Unless you fill these little boxes with chocolates, we are going to make a few of these in bright and bold colours and then some in softer tones and decorate accordingly.

NEW NEW NEW catalogue and whilst it looks really festive on the outside there is all sorts of goodies on the inside not just Xmas stuff - yes catalogues are ordered and will be here for class next week.

Loyalty Program - Just a reminder that this will close off at the end of October and vouchers will be posted at the start of November giving you plenty of time to order yourself a lovely little present for under the tree.

Being Creatively Flexible!

So today I wanted to show a project I finished a few years ago of my Grandmother when she was a little girl, but to also illustrate the ability to be flexible with our creative minds.

It's very easy to see in the papercrafting industry those teachers / designers who have a particular style and they of course have the dedicated following who love what they do.  Some of them like mixed media, some like a whole page of negative space with one photo, some just like plain old cards and layouts.  There is of course nothing wrong with this as that is their signature style and they may have tried other forms of papercrafting and it just didn't flick their switch!

For me it is about being flexible and not putting myself in a pigeon hole of creativity, I need to be a jack of all trades and whilst that is not always easy it definitely keeps the creativity flowing.

If you look at this project and compare to some of my others you can see that it has very different styling and feel to some of my other work but the composition and basic design principles are there.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Getting "Un-Clogged"

So for a while now I have been an little "over" Ranger Glossy Accents - and not due to the quality of the product but more so because of the little plastic nozzle which is ALWAYS FREAKIN CLOGGED!!! I thought I had struck gold after reading some information about the "Dina Wakley Fine Tip Applicators".  I ordered some from the local scrapbooking shop Papertrenz, and then bugged the girls until they arrived. Such was my excitement about getting this new little product which I thought was going to change my life!  Alas the top doesn't fit the large or small glossy accents bottle and I suppose when it comes down to it - the product wasn't designed to be used in this way, no doubt it's perfect for the paint tubes for which it was designed for.

The heavens have again parted as I stumbled across a recent blog post by Simon Says Stamp blogger Jennifer McGuire, this lady makes some awesome cards and has solved all my "cloggy" problems with one video - link is below.

All is right again in the world!!

Good Ol Sport - Graphic 45 Cards

Well they are done - after much procrastination, I kind of lost my mojo for a while there and wasn't really inspired to make anything but I am back baby!!  I like them and especially the old bloke playing cricket perfect image for a "Happy Retirement" card.

Graphic 45 - Good Ol Sport & Special Info

If you follow my Facebook page you would have read that I have been a little preoccupied with my 18 month old son who had a bit of a disagreement with his toy card and the dining room floor about a week ago.  So with that in mind I have been showering the little tiger with lots of cuddles and sloppy kisses and haven't done much in the way of crafting.  But wanted to share a picture of some of the cardstock I will be using to make the cards for this weekend.

Now for some breaking news!!!! Really it's not that earth shattering but I will be stocking Bazzill Cardstock for purchase, the prices will be from .70c per sheet up to .80c per sheet for the basic cardstock.  I am not selling on line so it is only available to purchase in class or at Superscrap. I also have swatches so if you have been looking for a particular colour for a while you can have a browse and I am more than happy to order it for you.

Craft Tote on Steroids!!!

Happy Friday Everyone

So I have been getting a little bit sick of my craft tote mainly because now that I am teaching it just doesn't hold enough stuff.  I also went and purchased a big beautiful new paper trimmer and it just doesn't fit.  I have been looking around for a while for something bigger and I finally found just what I was looking for at Masters - yes the hardware store!  Get a load of this awesome builders tool bag - or should I say my new craft tote!  It's like a normal craft tote on steroids - and I Love It!!!!

Below is some pics of inside - seriously it's got all these great little compartments the same as a crafters' tote.
