Stampin' Up! - New Catalogues

Again It's Me!

This is like three posts in one night but some very important news I just posted on Facebook.

The release of two new Stampin' Up! catalogues is less than a month away!!! Woot Woot!!! So all my regular clients will receive a copy free in the mail and those who are Stampin' Up! curious, either about the products (which are beautiful) or hosting your own party to earn free stuff, just send me a message, no obligation consultation available (over wine of course) or just ask me to send you a free brochure!
Some further information on plans for early next year, I am going to separate out the Stampin Up! side of the business with a brand new Website, Blog & Facebook page so stay tuned for links etc to be provided. Kits Kits Kits need I say more (super popular), these will be available in limited numbers every couple of months - and I am on-boarding with a new / old concept of virtual parties - you don't even have to leave the house!!! If you are interested being the host you will get the same free goodies as if you have hosted in the flesh!!! So if you live in Brisvegas and your mum is in WA and your stampin up mates are scattered all over the place we just set a time and date and they all log onto Facebook and we party until the break of dawn (or until I say enough is enough)!!!! If you are keen to do this send me a private message and I will add you to the list and contact you when I am ready to kick off!
(Big Sigh)

Newsflash - Classes

Me Again!

Just wanted to share some information for my Blog followers as some of you may not have seen this information on Facebook:-

NEWS - So just wanted to let everyone know that the 6th December will be my last class until July 2016. There are a couple reasons for this, firstly at the moment due to other commitments I can't give the classes the full attention they need, secondly the first half of next year I will be doing a lot of travelling, attending retreats and workshops (to gain some further skills). So I will be using the next 6 months to actually prepare all class samples for the second half of next year. The other reason is that I want to change the format of the classes to a bi-monthly event held over a Sat & Sun with a special guest teacher from the Brisbane area to teach at least one class in an intimate setting (max 10).
I still plan to run super-scraps during this time and will also from time to time have kits available for purchase as these have been very popular. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call or drop me a line.

Retro Cork Board

Yep Me Again!!!

The next project we did last month involved a shopping trip where I picked up the following items:-

And turned them into this:-

Just a bit of information on how we achieved the look so I started by laying down some pages from an old novel and inked with vintage photo distress ink and sprayed with a bit of water. To stick these on the cork I used a multi medium and waited for that to dry then using a template I mixed some distress ink with the same multi medium to create the green rays - you could use whatever colour is your fav.  Then it was a matter of gather all the elements together and inking and using a bit of glitter.  I picked a photo from the 70's but anything would work and a few of my ladies changed the colour theme to blue and pink/purple and it looked just as good.

P.S So much fun ripping the clock apart and the cork fits perfectly.

Stampin' Up! Gift Boxes

Hi All

Today I will be doing a couple of posts from projects we did last month which are super easy and look awesome people will think you spent hours putting them together.

These gift boxes are all created using the "Stampin' Up! Gift Box Punch Board" this super cool board creates around 10 different sized boxes.  I have used the smallest measurement of 6 x 6 inches a medium size of 8 x 8 inches and the largest size using a 12 x 12 inch piece of cardstock.  The instruction are printed on the board and simple to understand once you have punch out your paper and created your box, you can embellish until the cows come home.

Layout - Stampin' Up! Sunday

Hi All

This is what we created on the weekend for our layout class "Bold & Bright" using the Sweet Taffy papers from last years catalogue.  I love the colours in this layout and the background, I am finding it easier as I get more layouts under my belt.  This was inspired by some layouts I saw browsing the internet and I merged a couple of ideas together plus added some of my own quirky items.

Cards - Stampin' Up Sunday

As it was such a beautiful day I ditched the photo tent and decided to take the pics out in the back yard - I think they turned out okay.

Using "Vellum" for these cards which is such a versatile paper medium and was really nice to work with.

These are the cards for this Sunday the 20th September 2015 hope to see you there.

More Info on Up-Coming Classes

Hi All

I have had a few questions about what my classes will entail over the next couple of months so I have tried to give you some further information below without giving too much away - I like to hold a little bit back to get people excited about what we will be doing!!!

Stampin' Up! Sunday - 20th September 2015
Cards - We will be making 4 cards using the English Garden Collection which I used last month to make a layout of my son. In addition we will be stamping on Vellum and showing you modern ways to use this style of paper which has been around for a while.  I also have a new stamp set to play with as well.

Layout - This months theme is "Bold & Bright" so we will  be creating our background out of the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and the using the Sweet Taffy paper range which was in the last catalogue but I still have some left and love the big bright colours.

Off the Page - Keeping is simple we will use the Gift Box Punch to make our own Gift Boxes.

Retro September - 27th September 2015
Cards - I found some really cool retro coasters which have inspired me to make four cards, where you will be able to insert the coasters into two of them to give as a gift and the other two cards we will use the coasters as toppers.

Round Cork Photo Board - I came across some round cork board and thought they would make a really cool off the page project so we will be using the cork as a base and scrapbooking on this with chipboard and some other cool stuff.

October - No Classes

Christmas Headstart - 1st November 2015
Cards - Using the lovely new Graphic 45 Christmas paper range we will make four cards for only those very special people in your life.

Off the Page - Using various Christmas Papers to make wine bags

Stampin' Up! Sunday - 15th November 2015
Cards - On this day we will  be making 20 cards, yes you ready correctly I will design 4 cards and you will be making 5 of each of them, hence the price of this class is $40 however that only works out to be $2 per card (for a handmade card!!!)

Layout - Something Christmas themed (I am yet to choose papers for this class but they will be from the new catalogue)

Off the Page - Christmas Window Pillow Boxes

Christmas Breakout / up - 6th December 2015
This day will be about Christmas Tags and using brown paper to make our wrapping paper as well as embellishments to go with everything.  I am currently investigating the Heidi Swapp Minc Foiling Machine to purchase for this class as I think it would be pretty amazing to do our tags etc this way.  Will keep you posted on this.

So as you can see I think Christmas is more than covered, and I am also planning classes for next year which I am super excited about to give you a taste I am hoping to do some Tim Holtz themed classes and also Wendy Vecchi who does the most amazing faux granite technique on her cards I think it just needs to be shared.

Anyway enough babbling from me - Hope you have an awesome week I will be designing and making cards for this weekends classes so stay tuned for the photos.

Shabby Chic Day

As we zoom towards the end of another week I am just doing a quick post today on a project I completed a few years ago when I caught the OTP bug (Off the Page).  It was a design by Angella Peardon in conjunction with Scrapmatts I was really pleased to produce something so "pretty".

Stampin' Up! News & Class Info

Firstly just a reminder that Stampin' Up Sunday is back next week 23rd August from 9:30am to 3:30pm and whilst the samples are yet to be completed I have attached pictures below of some of the lovely items we will be using to create our layout and off the page project.  I should have the samples finished next week for viewing but don't wait just dive in a come to class - I am sure you won't be disappointed.

So for our cards I am thinking "All that Glitters" sounds interesting and I hope they come out just like I have planned in my head, the layout we will be using the lovely English Garden papers below which have quite a soft subtle colouring but I will be pairing these with some deep royal blue background cardstock.  For our off-the-page item this month think McDonald's fries without the fat!!!! Unless you fill these little boxes with chocolates, we are going to make a few of these in bright and bold colours and then some in softer tones and decorate accordingly.

NEW NEW NEW catalogue and whilst it looks really festive on the outside there is all sorts of goodies on the inside not just Xmas stuff - yes catalogues are ordered and will be here for class next week.

Loyalty Program - Just a reminder that this will close off at the end of October and vouchers will be posted at the start of November giving you plenty of time to order yourself a lovely little present for under the tree.

Being Creatively Flexible!

So today I wanted to show a project I finished a few years ago of my Grandmother when she was a little girl, but to also illustrate the ability to be flexible with our creative minds.

It's very easy to see in the papercrafting industry those teachers / designers who have a particular style and they of course have the dedicated following who love what they do.  Some of them like mixed media, some like a whole page of negative space with one photo, some just like plain old cards and layouts.  There is of course nothing wrong with this as that is their signature style and they may have tried other forms of papercrafting and it just didn't flick their switch!

For me it is about being flexible and not putting myself in a pigeon hole of creativity, I need to be a jack of all trades and whilst that is not always easy it definitely keeps the creativity flowing.

If you look at this project and compare to some of my others you can see that it has very different styling and feel to some of my other work but the composition and basic design principles are there.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Getting "Un-Clogged"

So for a while now I have been an little "over" Ranger Glossy Accents - and not due to the quality of the product but more so because of the little plastic nozzle which is ALWAYS FREAKIN CLOGGED!!! I thought I had struck gold after reading some information about the "Dina Wakley Fine Tip Applicators".  I ordered some from the local scrapbooking shop Papertrenz, and then bugged the girls until they arrived. Such was my excitement about getting this new little product which I thought was going to change my life!  Alas the top doesn't fit the large or small glossy accents bottle and I suppose when it comes down to it - the product wasn't designed to be used in this way, no doubt it's perfect for the paint tubes for which it was designed for.

The heavens have again parted as I stumbled across a recent blog post by Simon Says Stamp blogger Jennifer McGuire, this lady makes some awesome cards and has solved all my "cloggy" problems with one video - link is below.

All is right again in the world!!

Good Ol Sport - Graphic 45 Cards

Graphic 45 - Good Ol Sport & Special Info

If you follow my Facebook page you would have read that I have been a little preoccupied with my 18 month old son who had a bit of a disagreement with his toy card and the dining room floor about a week ago.  So with that in mind I have been showering the little tiger with lots of cuddles and sloppy kisses and haven't done much in the way of crafting.  But wanted to share a picture of some of the cardstock I will be using to make the cards for this weekend.

Now for some breaking news!!!! Really it's not that earth shattering but I will be stocking Bazzill Cardstock for purchase, the prices will be from .70c per sheet up to .80c per sheet for the basic cardstock.  I am not selling on line so it is only available to purchase in class or at Superscrap. I also have swatches so if you have been looking for a particular colour for a while you can have a browse and I am more than happy to order it for you.

Craft Tote on Steroids!!!

Happy Friday Everyone

So I have been getting a little bit sick of my craft tote mainly because now that I am teaching it just doesn't hold enough stuff.  I also went and purchased a big beautiful new paper trimmer and it just doesn't fit.  I have been looking around for a while for something bigger and I finally found just what I was looking for at Masters - yes the hardware store!  Get a load of this awesome builders tool bag - or should I say my new craft tote!  It's like a normal craft tote on steroids - and I Love It!!!!

Below is some pics of inside - seriously it's got all these great little compartments the same as a crafters' tote.
